Electric Discharge Machine

The [MH20M] motorized EDM has been designed to drill the tiny holes in any conducting gasketmaterial that the diamond anvil cells (DAC) operation requires.



Drilling diameter : from 20µm to 500µm.
Centring accuracy : < 5µm.
Drills in any conducting material : Stainless steel, rhenium

Fast drilling : dia. 40µm /minute for a dia. 200µm hole in a stainless steel gasket

ELECRODES

Using different diameter wires the hole diameter can be continuously varied from 60μm to 530μm by controlling the electrode voltage.
A needle is used for drilling from 10μm to 50μm.

ABRASIVE
TOOL

have been designed in order to facilitate the repair (with emery-cloth) of used and worn MH20 spark- eroder electrodes.

Membrane Diamond Anvil Cell
These Membrane Diamond Anvil Cell are aimed at performing high pressure experiments at a large range of temperatures.

Pressure range :
0 to 3 Mbar (depending on the culet size of the diamonds)
Temperature range :
- 10 K to 450 K. Standard version
- RT to 1000 K. High temperature version
MICROVALVE

A micro-valve attached to the membrane allows to disconnect the cell from its pressure controller while maintaining the pressure in the membrane.

MEMBRANE

A helium pressure varying from 0 to 200 bars applies onto a membrane that is in contact with the MDAC piston and will transmit it forces up to 10 kN.

Optical Transfer
The Optical Transfer has been designed for
measuring pressures using the luminescence of a reference material (Ruby or SrB407 : Sm 2+).
Its small size and weight make "on site" measurements possible.
When equipped with an internal mini laser it functions as a "stand alone" instrument.
Pressure Ruby Luminescence
The BETSA® PRL spectrometer (Pressure by Ruby Luminescence) has been designed for measuring pressures using the luminescence of a reference material (Ruby or SrB407 : Sm 2+).
Its small size and weight make "on site" measurements possible
Cryogenic Gas Loading System
    This equipment makes it easy to load cryogenic gases for all of your experiments in quasi-hydrostatic conditions.

  It can handle any gas except H2, He and Ne. It suits any type of DAC. It includes a safety valve to secure the loading.
